I think the concert was great. We each had our own times to shine in the spotlight. The Ea's performance was adorable and the JA sounded and danced wonderfully. The last song, Sancturary, was amazing and very impactful. Overall it was an enjoyable experience for the performers and the audience and a wonderful way to start this year's choral festivities.
I think GSU Sing Fest was so much fun. Here at Drew, our SA choir is composed of maybe 25 students. It was amazing having the opportunity to sing with such a large amount of beautiful voices. They even gave us pizza, which is always a plus. We heard different styles such as opra and musical theater from some of the student in the GSU singing program, and we had the opportunity to see their own choir perform a few songs. The only downside was that we never really performed before an audience. We just performed before the same people we practiced with. Overall I had a good time.
This December we had our 2022 Holiday Concert. We sang Christmas Cannon, Like a River In My Soul, and Various themes of Fa-La-La. My favorite part of the performance were the cannons at the end of Various themes of Fa-La-La. It was fun, spontaneous, and everyone seemed to love it. In the end we got a standing ovation. This is definitely one of the best ways to end a concert.
Last week my class and I went to North View Highschool to perform at LGPE. LGPE or Large group performnace evaluation is a day where we go out, perform two songs, and sight read in front of judges for a score. My favorite song that we performed is The Word Was God. I think we performed it very well. In addition, it was very easy to remember the words. Acapella songs can either go very well or very bad and I think we definitely pulled it off.
