For our final project, we were asked to take full ownership of a media production project by planning, producing, editing, and presenting a student-made film with a creative team of our choice. I worked with Tamia Ward and Michelle Ayling. We could pick from a variety of different film types, so our group decided to create a short narrative. Throughout the process I acted as a co-writer, portrayed two different roles, and edited the film in the end. Then, after finalizing our film, my group created a slideshow to outline the process of creating our final product. Please watch our completed film on the left!
For this assignment each student was asked to create a silent short film inspired by Charlie Chaplin’s iconic “Tramp” character. The film could be no longer than 5 minutes and it had to include all phases of production: pre-production, production, and post-production. As a part of this project I wrote, directed, and edited my own film with the help of my cast members: Tamia Ward as the tramp, Jade Chivers as an actor, Free Willis as an actor, and Michelle Ayling as the camerawoman. Then later on I created a slideshow that detailed the entire process of making my short film. Please review the slidehow on the right and watch my short my film entitled "Basket Case"!
After studying American poems and songs, my class and I wrote a script for a radio commercial to sell an All American meal or snack of our choosing. This was a combined project with Ap Lang and Film Class. Our commercial had to contain at least 2 lines from one of the poems or songs we studied in class. As a part of this project we had to not only write a script, but also record our commercial, play it for the class to receive feedback, and re-record or edit the commercial into our final product. For this project, the Lumiere Project, my class was asked to create a one-minute short film, using only a wide shot, that told a complete story with a beginning, middle, and end. The film had to be silent, black & white, and only one shot. My group and I decided to make our film about a petty theft, and you'll never guess what the getaway vehicle was: a pogo stick. I acted as the camerawoman and a co-writer. Afterwards my group made a slideshow detailing the process of making our film. Please review the slideshow to watch our final product!
