For this project we were asked to create a photo-collage on an empowerment fist that showcased actions and activists that fought for the empowerment of a group. I decided to make my empowerment fist on the feminist movement. I completed the project by using Canva, and I created my empowerment fist by inlaying photographs of prominent people, group photos, and major events associated with the movement. For this assignment our teacher, Mr. Alford, asked the class to create a one page poster about a unit from the AP U.S. History curriculum. I decided to make my one pager about period 8 which covers 1945 - 1980. This unit focuses on the post-war era period and the cold war. It also touches on the rise of the civil rights movement, the great society under Lydon B Johnson, the Vietnam war, and the rise of the conservative movement. Please explore my one pager on the right.
Before this project, my class and I were asked to read a mini comic about the obscure Harlem Hellfighters. The Harlem Hellfighters was a nickname given to the 369th infantry regiment, an African American unit in WW1. After reviewing the google slideshow our teacher, Mr. Alford, provided for us, we were then prompted to use the information on the documents to add another page to the graphic novel. Please read my comic to the left.
For this subunit we have been exploring the presidency of Theodore Roosevelt. We were first asked to watch a series of videos our teacher provided to us. Then we were asked to categorize the good and bad aspects of Theodore Roosevelt . Finally we used this information to mak a visual poster outlining what we learned.
For this project I used Canva to make a poster that showcased a technological innovation from the time period of the Market Revolution (around 1800 - 1850). I decided to do my project on Samuel Colt, an American inventor, industrialist, and businessman and his Patent Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company which made revolvers mass producible around the U.S. Please read my poster on the right to learn more!
For this project Mr. Alford, our AP U.S. History teacher asked us to create a mini-poster that illustrates the events leading up to the American Revolution. We had to include events such as the French and Indian War, the Boston Tea Party, the Decleration of Independence, and more. We had to make sure to include at least 7 images and to incorporate contextualization that would connect the various events as well. Here is our final product to the left! I now have a better understanding of how the American revolution came to be.
