Pacing guides for attack
Pacing Guide
Pacing Guide = a year-long or course-length schedule for all the units of study within a course. It is not a schedule for learning activities within those units.
Learning Progressions = "Learning progressions are the sequential building blocks of instruction" or "daily chunks of instruction" (Ainsworth, 2017).
Buffer Zones = short intervals between units in the pacing guide to allow for remediation and a deeper understanding of priority standards
Length of Units- typically 4 to 6 weeks
Factors impacting the length of the unit:
age of students
rigor of content
assigned priority standards and supporting standards
planned learning experiences
