SEPTEMBER 21 IS THE LAST DAY OF NORTH TEXAS GIVING DAY!
A message from Principal Santos...
North Texas Giving Day is finally here! September 21st is the last day to donate! This support is critical for so many important components of our programming!
Our first SBDM meeting is next week, September 28th at 5:30 PM on Zoom. These meetings help us shape the expectations for our school and community. We will be discussing and approving our parent compact as well as breaking out into groups to discuss important topics. We hope to see you there!
We need your support at carline. Solar Boys has excellent parent support during their carline which helps keep students safe, build community AND allows for staff members to utilize the time constructively as they prepare for students! Help us create the same system at our school! Click here or on the flyer and sign up today to help us!
Be on the lookout for the TAG nomination form. We will be sending it out on Remind and parents will have a week to nominate their students.

❗IMPORTANT REMINDERS
REVIEW AND SIGN ATTENDANCE POLICY BELOW. We are looking for 100%. Help us get there!
SCHOOL STARTS AT 8:00 AM. Sisterhood Circle, Shine Time and Advisory Period are all critical components of our day of learning and we want to ensure all students are able to take part. We are giving parents some time to figure out timing with traffic and school zones. Students will be counted tardy beginning at 8:01. Parents must exit their vehicles and sign students in when dropping off after 8:00 AM. Please help us ensure that all of our Trailblazers are here on time!
FOOD NEWS AND UPDATES
Birthday Treats 🍓🎂🍿🍩 🍉
We ask that individual gifts for students (flowers, cookies, cards) be given at home. We will no longer be delivering individual gifts to students. If a parent has made a delivery to the school, they can come to the office with the student after dismissal is over to pick up the items.
Parents/Guardians may bring birthday treats ONLY if there are enough to share with the whole class. These treats will only be accepted to celebrate birthdays (not other occasions - unless specifically requested by a teacher). Birthday treats must be store bought and will always be distributed during the last 10 minutes of class.
We are a nut-free campus. We want parents to be mindful of allergies in the classroom. Teachers will notify parents through their newsletters/Remind about allergies.
Classroom snacks should be individually wrapped and may be dropped off in the front office. Please make sure that the boxes/bags of treats are labeled with your child's homeroom teacher.
Lunch 🥕🥪🌮🥗🍱
We are requesting that parents to limit the amount of times that lunches are dropped off in the office. While we are happy to accommodate occasional needs - we want to ensure that our time is focused on attendance, enrollment and parent support. Uber Eats or any other delivery service are ONLY to be used to provide meals for teachers and staff. While we understand that things come up, your support with this is greatly appreciated!
Parents are welcome to come eat with their child beginning in October. Here are the safety guidelines:
Limit to 2 parents/guests at a time, must bring ID and be listed in Powerschool, no exceptions.
In the event of inclement weather, you will need to reschedule your date as there is no indoor dining option available for guests.
Guest may eat with their child only (no friends/additional students).
Beverages 🧃🥤☕️🥛
The ONLY beverage allowed to be consumed in classrooms is WATER! Students are encouraged to have a LABELED water bottle with them all day and may refill it throughout the day, as needed.
All other beverages will be allowed to be consumed in the cafeteria ONLY. If students bring any type of morning beverage such as coffee, a smoothie or juice, and they arrive before 8AM, they will be given time to consume their beverage in the cafeteria. At 8 AM or when students exit the cafeteria, beverages other than water must be disposed of before entering the hallway beyond the cafeteria.
Thank you for helping us to ensure that every bit of energy we have is focused on instruction and that the cleanliness and attention in our learning environment is prioritized. (And helping us make sure that our encounters with creepy crawlers are minimized!)
