A message from Principal  Santos ...

This week was jam-packed with so much fun and learning. We are so grateful for the amazing opportunities that our staff and community make possible for our Trailblazers. From debate tournaments, robotics competitions, amazing fierce female speakers, derby cars, field trips, garden day, parents' night out, we want to thank everyone who donated their time and resources to help make these icing-on-the-cake-experiences possible.

This week we have our SBDM meeting on Tuesday at 5:30 on zoom. We will review data from our Campus Needs Assessment, get more input and discuss topics within our committees. We hope you get to join us!

A reminder that there is no school FRIDAY the 29th OR Monday, April 1st! See below for IMPORTANT solar eclipse information for April 8th.

Dear Parents and Families,

You may have heard there is quite a bit of excitement as we eagerly await Solar Eclipse Day on Monday, April 8. Dallas ISD is gearing up for this extraordinary learning opportunity, and we anticipate many will be drawn to North Texas to witness the full eclipse.

Across the district, students are provided the chance to experience this celestial event from their campus. Each student will be provided safety glasses to ensure they can safely observe the eclipse. It's an incredible opportunity for them to witness the wonders of the universe firsthand.

I encourage you to take a moment to talk to your child about the importance of wearing these safety glasses– they are not just accessories but essential tools to ensure their eyes are protected. We will also review the importance of this pratice at school and opportunities for volunteers to help with this experience will be sent out by each grade level.

With the anticipated influx of visitors to the area, there may be some transportation delays in high-traffic areas. In the event of bus delays, we appreciate your patience patience. Utilize our transportation app for real-time updates.

Additionally, to help alleviate potential traffic concerns, we kindly request if you need to check your child out for any reason that day, please do so between 10:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prepare for this exciting day. Let's make it a memorable experience for our students.

OPT-OUT Option:

As a parent/guardian, should you NOT want your child to participate in the solar eclipse event, please complete this form. Alternate arrangements will be made for the solar eclipse viewing period on Monday, April 8.

At Solar Prep for Girls our uniform policy includes a very specific dress code. We believe that if a student is dressed for success they will feel confident which positively impacts academic performance. Our hope is that our uniform creates a sense of pride for our school and our school community. We appreciate your support in ensuring your student comes to school dressed appropriately and ready to engage in learning.

We will continue providing feedback to students out of dress code to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
