A message from Principal  Santos ...

Happy Mother's Day!

To all of our Solar mamas --

We hope you feel appreciated in the tremendous role you play each and every day! Today, may you take some time to cherish where you are in your journey as a mother and how far you have come. It all goes by way too fast!

As moms, we often find ourselves wondering,

"How will I ever find the perfect balance?"

NEWS FLASH - the perfect balance is neither the goal nor is it realistic (unless you have a secret way to add 50 hours to each day).

We are never going to be able to do it all. Today I may be an awesome mom, tomorrow a great principal and on Tuesday a fabulous friend. Instead of focusing on what you wish you could do better, find your strength each day and allow yourself grace. You are enough and you are doing an amazing job!

I want to give a HUGE thanks to our Solar families for helping to celebrate our Teachers and Staff last week for Teacher Appreciation week. Every ounce of success that we have as a school is because of their hard work day in and day out! If you didn't get a chance to share your love, it is not too late! Words of affirmation and gratitude are appreciated especially at the end of the year so that we may finish strong!

It was a busy week with so many incredible volunteers who helped to support our efforts. Whether you helped with Lemonade Day, our AAPI Community Event, Teacher Appreciation, our Pre-K and Kinder Orientation, or our 5th Grade Overnight Field Trip, we truly appreciate your commitment to making the most memorable experiences for our Trailblazers. Pictures to come!

This week we look forward to celebrating our 8th graders during their final days at Solar. As one of our founding classes at Solar this group has helped to set the tone for what our Trailblazers can accomplish and we are oh so proud of their success. Stay tuned as we share our love with them this week and give them the most special send off to high school!

HAVE AN INCREDIBLE WEEK!

At Solar Prep for Girls our uniform policy includes a very specific dress code. We believe that if a student is dressed for success they will feel confident which positively impacts academic performance. Our hope is that our uniform creates a sense of pride for our school and our school community. We appreciate your support in ensuring your student comes to school dressed appropriately and ready to engage in learning.

We will continue providing feedback to students out of dress code to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
