Parents of PK, Kinder & New students meet up & mingle in the Solar Girls cafeteria after drop off. PTA provides light breakfast & coffee. We will wait a few minutes after drop off for the girls to leave the cafeteria to begin the parent breakfast.
Solar Family -
We cannot wait to welcome back our Trailblazers and families on Monday. Our campus is buzzing with preparations for the incredible year to come. Teachers and staff have leveled up their passion, commitment, and joy this school year. They've stepped up and out of their roles to help each other, discuss creative ideas to better our work, and create a welcoming environment for all.
This is just the beginning and we are excited to see all the ways we continue to level up together with our students and families!
In preparation for OUR FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL:
PLEASE COMPLETE ENROLLMENT IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, THIS SAVES US A LOT OF TIME!
PK-2nd grade and middle school will go directly to their classrooms on Monday morning. 3-5th grade will go directly to the gym.
PK and Kinder families may walk their scholars in the building to their classrooms using the Henderson Doors ONLY.
The PK/K and New Family Boo Hoo Breakfast will be hosted in the cafeteria Monday at 8:15 am. Parents will need to park their vehicles in the staff parking lot off Manett Street to attend the event.
Carts will be available at all of the entrance locations for any supplies that are dropped off during the first week of school. Supplies may be dropped off in a bag or box with their scholars name. (Individual supplies do not need to labeled.)
TRANSPORTATION, ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
For ensure a smooth dismissal for our youngest learners, PK and Kinder classes will be dismissed at 3:10 pm, while 1st-8th grade scholars will be dismissed at 3:20 pm.
For ALL DISMISSAL LOCATIONS we will be utilizing PikMyKid. Please register and ensure your pick up locations are correct, and that everything is up to date.
For CARLINE, YOU MUST BE REGISTERED ON PikMyKid and announce that you are here once you arrive. If you do not have PikMyKid, you will be asked to pull forward and wait. Please DO NOT announce that you have arrived until you are on Manett halfway through the line. This helps us stay organized and only bring students out into the heat when you are close by.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WE NEED BEFORE MONDAY IS YOUR DISMISSAL INFO! If you haven't already done, so ensure that we are informed of your scholar's dismissal by completing this complete form below:
IMPORTANT BACKPACK AND TECHNOLOGY UPDATES -
ALL students in Kindergarten - 8th grade MUST wear CLEAR OR MESH BACKPACKS. If a student shows up on the first day with a backpack that is NOT clear or mesh, a clear backpack will be provided for them to transfer their supplies.
Students in 5th-8th grade will be issued a computer to use at school and home on Monday or Tuesday. Guidelines for computer use will be sent home for parent signature. Students in PK-4th grade will keep their computer in their classroom.
Headphones MUST be wired. NO BLUETOOTH or earbud headphones will be allowed on campus.
Cell phones must always remain powered off and visible inside students backpack during the school day.
Parents MUST call the front office if they need to send a message to their child during the school day.
Smart watches are permitted for telling time ONLY. If a student is caught utilizing their smartwatch for texting, calculator use or anything other than the time, their smartwatch will be taken up and they will not be allowed to bring it back to school.
