Happy Lunar New Year to all! The new beginning of the lunar cycle is celebrated as an important time to set intentions and plant new seeds for the future. As we watch January flash before our eyes, we can see February looming ahead around the corner. This is our second chance at a new beginning if we didn't start 2023 on the right foot. We have so many important events coming up in the next few weeks and I cannot wait to continue to watch our Trailblazers shine as we work toward being the very best version of ourselves at the most amazing school in the world! In this year of the rabbit, let us practice our quick wit and confidence as we plant the seeds for our collective future.

Solar Preparatory School for Girls has kicked off the American Heart Association’s KIDS HEART CHALLENGE (KHC) with students watching THIS KHC VIDEO to meet this year’s Heart Heroes and bring home information about Kids Heart Challenge. Our campus goal is to raise $8,000.00 in donations to fight heart diseases and stroke and have 100% of families learn hands-only CPR. Students who are registered and have an online donation by Monday will be entered into a drawing with other students across the country for a Large Squishmallow or a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate and earn some of this year’s Heart Heroes!
Your students can earn this year’s heart heroes by registering or downloading the Kids Heart Challenge app! Your family can learn hands only CPR by starting Finn’s Mission after your register!

CALLING ALL GIRL SCOUTS! One have one final opportunity to order Girl Scout Cookies!
The last day to place an order for Girl Scout cookies for this season is Friday, January 27th. The pick-up for those cookies will be Friday, February 3rd after school from 5-7pm.

Once again Solar will play through the YMCA, and here are a few reminders:

List your scholar in her current grade level.
Parent volunteers are needed to coach, and each coach/team will determine its practice schedule.
Soccer season is March 25 - May 11 (games on Saturdays) and is for ages 3-14.
Volleyball season is March 28 - May 13 (games on weeknights) and is for ages 7-16.
