A Newsletter for Families of Solar Preparatory School for Girls
A message from Principal Santos...
TOMORROW IS THE DAY! Tomorrow marks the start of an exciting new school year, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome our students back! Our halls are ready, our hearts are full, and we can’t wait to watch our Trailblazers shine and soar. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!
📝 ✅ REGISTRATION: we only have 472 out of 700 students enrolled for this school year. Please go in and complete registration if you have not done so.
For those students who are returning to our school or district, please complete the registration process to confirm your child's enrollment for the upcoming year. This involves updating contact information, emergency contacts, and other pertinent details.
New to DISD: If your child is new to our school district, please ensure that you complete the enrollment process as soon as possible. This involves submitting proof of residency (water or electricity bill), your child's birth certificate, and shot records.
Online Portal Access: We encourage you to utilize choose.dallasisd.org online registration portal for your convenience. This portal will provide step-by-step instructions on how to complete the registration process.
⚕️👩🏻⚕️ NURSE VISITS & IMMUNIZATIONS: This year we need families to fill out a form in order to be seen by the nurse because of a recent state law that has passed. We will be sending paper copies of this form home with student that we need returned. However, in the event that your child may need to see the nurse on the first day of school, the form is linked here.
Per TEXAS State Requirements - As per state regulations, all students must have up-to-date immunization records on file with the school. Students will not be allowed to attend if they do not have their immunization records up to date. (or an affidavit turned in for those who choose not to vaccinate.) These records are CRUCIAL for the health and safety of all students and staff. If you need assistance please reach out to Nurse Arteaga at mariamartinez8@dallasisd.org.
🚌 🚘 TRANSPORTATION: Please fill out our transportation form, so we know how your student is getting home the first week of school and for the rest of year. Whether your student is a walker, car rider, attending YMCA, etc. this form is imperative to helping us run a fast and smooth dismissal! The link is here. More information on the bus schedule can be found here. If you do not see a bus stop on the bus schedule and would like to request one, please fill out this form. At least 5 students need to be requesting the same stop in order for transportation services to add it to the bus schedule!
