A Newsletter for Families of Solar Preparatory School for Girls
A message from
Principal Santos...
September 18th is North Texas Giving Day. Our foundation, Friends of Solar Prep has been critical to our success since year one. Today, FOSP supports both Solar schools and has raised over 2.5 million dollars to support our students and teachers. From sending our teachers to world-class conferences to providing library books, field trips and supplies for classrooms, this organization has given us the ability to take our students to the next level.
Each year each school needs an additional $300-$400K to continue to provide the Solar experience. Every dollar spent is based on principal request and parents can choose to earmark funds for a specific school.
As a principal, my favorite part of this job to date has been seeing the success of our students beyond Solar. I love seeing our strong, confident resilient Trailblazers in action. They come back to share their success and reiterate the impact this school had on their experience in high school.
Thank you for your support! The momentum is on.

CAR LINE IMPORTANT UPDATES
👏🏽 🚗 TO ALL CAR LINE FAMILIES DURING PICK-UP:
Manett Street should be treated as a one way going south during pick-up and drop off. You should only be making right turns in and out of the parking lot.
We need you to make sure that you ANNOUNCE on PikMyKid when you arrive at the school.
Visit the front office if you need help setting up PikMyKid or figuring out how to announce.
Follow the link here for all the PikMyKId information.
🚏🚌 CARLINE DROP-OFF AT THE BUS LANE:
For the safety of our students, please do not allow students to exit the cars on their own on Manett street. We do not have the staff to supervise the crosswalk, and there have been too many close calls with buses.
Our preference if you are not parking to stay is that you go through the carline, but if you must park on Manett, you should plan to get out of the car with your child to escort them across the crosswalk. Even in middle school.
🏡🚶🏽♀️TO WALKER FAMILIES:
Please do not block driveways on Mission, Manett or across the street in the M-streets. We have had a lot of neighbors reach out ot the city about families who have not been good neighbors and have blocked driveways, fire hydrants and have double parked in the street to walk their kids to the Henderson doors. Help us be good neighbors!
