Principal Santos
We had a wonderful spirit week! From college day to our Perot STEM takeover to Careers, Pink & Purple and House Day, our girls had a blast showing their spirit and truly capturing all of the components of our model.
We end our spirit celebration on Monday with Book Character Day! Thanks to the generous efforts of our Solar Pantry, and families who donated, we have plenty of costumes for everyone! Students are welcome to come and find a costume from the racks first thing in the morning if they don't have one. See flyer below for Character Day Costume Guidelines and Expectations.
We have a busy week this week! Picture day will be on Thursday. Uniforms are required on this day. Sign up HERE to volunteer!
3rd-5th Grade will be celebrating the Girl Scout Derby on Friday. Volunteers are still needed. Sign Up HERE.
Trunk or Treat has been moved to this Friday, but it is tentative. We will only be able to hold trunk or treat for all of our students if we have at least 50 cars sign up to pass out treats to make it feasible for the 750 students and their families on our campus. We still need 10 more. Help us make this a memorable student event and sign up now!
We invite you to attend the Día De Los Muertos Festival at Dallas College- Mountain View on Wednesday, November 2nd from 5-9pm to see the largest exhibit of Día De Los Muertos Altars in Dallas! Families from 18 different elementary, middle, and high schools, and colleges will be in attendance. There will be live performances, altar competitions, craft and food vendors and a DJ.

SOLAR GIRLS SPORTS
Register now for a discounted rate to play basketball or futsal with other Solar scholars! Registration deadline is November 15.
Once again Solar will play through the YMCA, and here are a few reminders:
This is a discounted registration fee just for Solar families; please don’t share the link.

Parent volunteers are needed to coach, and each coach/team will determine its practice schedule.
Basketball season is December 3 - January 28 (games on Saturdays) and is for ages 3-14.
Futsal season is December 4 - January 29 (games on Sundays) and is for ages 3-14.
