PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
The intent to return form is live and we appreciate all of you filling it out in a timely manner. The first grade level with 100% completion will get a free dress pass! I know how important your child's education is and I would happy to talk with anyone and answer questions or even accept feedback and thoughts about next school year!
I am confident that the education and academics provided at Solar are second to none. While I truly believe that our model is not only one of the most innovative and that our diversity is one of the most critical components to the unique learning experience we provide, the BIGGEST reason for our success is our AMAZING teachers.
Hiring season is in full swing and I am so excited by the awesome talent we have screened over the past few weeks. Recruting and retaining best teachers across the metroplex is a role and responsibility I take very seriously. We will make our first offers this week and I could not be more eager to onboard our new teachers and continue interviewing for our remaining spots! If you know of anyone who you think would be a wonderful addition to our Solar family please have them reach out to us at solarprep@dallasisd.org - We appreciate your support!!
2022-2023 COMMITMENT TO RETURN
We are planning for the next school year and we need your help by informing us of your intentions for next year in our Commitment to Return survey. A separate survey response needs to completed for each scholar that is currently attending our campus. Please take some time to fill it out so that we are able to plan accordingly for August. All intentions are due by April 15th.
MARCH MATH MADNESS!
This month we have engaged in our own March Madness Math tournament! Our focus is math fluency! After Sisterhood Circle each day, all scholars participate in math fact fluency challenge. Students are celebrated when they are able to “Beat the Buzzer." Check your newsletters to see which facts your trailblazer is working on to support them at home! The tournament is March 21st - April 8th!
SPRING CLUBS BEGAN LAST TUESDAY!
It was so much fun seeing all the new clubs in full swing yesterday! We are excited to provide engaging enrichment opportunities for our 3rd-7th grade trailblazers. It is not too late to sign up!!
Most clubs meet from 4:00-4:45pm and Tennis meets from 4:00-5:50pm on their designated days. (See the visual on the left for each club's meeting days.)
For new club members, Ms. Seagroves emailed all parents who complete the Google Form prior to Spring Break and a paper permission slip will be sent home on Monday, March 21st indicating your scholar's club assignment. If you wish to switch to a new club, there are still a few spots available and you can use THIS FORM to sign-up.
Remember that club pick-up time must be adhered to - and failure to do so, will result in removal from a club. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Seagroves at bseagroves@dallasisd.org. We appreciate your support!
