A MESSAGE FROM
Principal Santos
Thank you for the appreciation and love sent my way for National Principal's Month. I truly have the best job in the world and I could not be more grateful for the amazing teachers, families and students that I am privileged to serve. I could not do this work without all of you! It brings me joy each day to find ways to improve and put forth my best for our entire Solar community every day. On Wednesday, October 27th, we will round out this month of appreciation and welcome our principal for a day, Sherri Crosby Wheeler, Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion for Fossil Group. We are excited for the opportunity to have this fierce female share her light with our Solar Trailblazers!
I hope everyone has had a chance to connect with teachers for Fall Parent Conferences. They will continue this week. Please reach out to your child's teacher, if you would like to schedule a conference.
We look forward to a fun book character day on Friday. Please see the flyer below for Book Character Day costume guidelines. Trunk or Treat will be happening from 6:00 to 8:00 and for safety and contact tracing purposes all participants, guests and volunteers must fill out the form below in order to attend. All attendees must wear masks at this event while they are on district property.
Check out who has been celebrated this week!
Christine Hernandez
This week we welcomed back Ms. Hernandez from maternity leave! It was so great having her energy and spirit back in 4th grade and we cannot wait to support her through the transition back to work. Anyone who has experienced a mom's first week back knows it isn't easy but her shine has already given so many of us the extra pep in our step that we needed. Thank you, Christine!
Nancy Arteaga
Thank you for always doing what's best for kids! Your teaching style is amazing and the students really learn from your strategies.
Bethany Seagroves
You bring so much joy and excitement to the makerspace for both our girls and for educators from all over. Thank you for opening up your space to allow others to learn from your one and only makerspace knowledge.
Susamei Echeverria
She is always so kind and responsive, putting any concerns at bay! We appreciate all she does for our daughter and the other scholars.
Mayra Trillo
This week I had three students come up to me to speak about the amazing strength and positive attitude they build in PE. Thank you for always making such a positive impact on our girls and for sharing your gift for engagement and fun each and every day!
Patty Kim
It is evident that her teaching goes beyond art. Our scholar has come home with lessons of grit and cultural representation from her kinder art class. You are a fantastic addition to our Solar family!
Carline Staff
Afternoon carline pick-up is so smooth and fast! What an amazing job y'all have done this year! Thank you for helping our girls get into their vehicles safely and quickly!
Emma Arett
Ms. Arett made a point to contact me with good news about my daughter’s performance on an exam. This helps me motivate and encourage my daughter to work toward her own success.
Elizabeth Cuevas
She’s so sweet and patient with our girls! She’s well liked amongst the parent community, and continues to support our school as a parent and a staff member.
She’s always happy and excited to greet our girls in the morning. Her positive energy is addicting. She’s the perfect role model for our girls!
Christina Cano
Girl, you are a LPAC rockstar. Thank you for being such a diligent problem-solver to ensure that all of our discrepancies are taken care of!
Maribel Webster
Through every curveball that is consistently thrown at you each day, your positivity and careful, focused approach to ensuring that all parents feel taken care of is awesome. Thank you!
Victoria Correa
Ms. Correa manned the front office like a CHAMP! You are appreciated every day!
Michelle Canales
Ms. Canales has made a big difference in helping my little Kindergarten become so excited to come to school. Her attentiveness and consistency is keeping my daughter motivated to show up as her bestest self.
I love when we discuss how our day went Ms. Canales is always a positive part of my daughter's stories. She was loved in pre-k and loved just as much, if not more, for kindergarten.
Principal for a Day,
Sheri Crosby Wheeler
