You can download the Safer Community app on your mobile device from the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. The app is free.
The Safer Community app is tailored for use at Catholic University when you log into it with your Cardinal @cua.edu email address.
Follow the steps below to launch the app and do one-time configuration steps.

Identify yourself as a member of the Catholic University community by specifying your Cardinal email address at the prompt.
Authenticate your identity by logging on with your Cardinal username and password.
Use your username only, not your whole email address.
Self-report your COVID-19 symptoms. Receive test results. Allow your phone to send exposure notifications.

Be sure your device has been Bluetooth enabled. Place a check next to the "I consent" box.
Location Services must be enabled for the App to allow the Exposure Notifications to work.
Your personal QR code is displayed and is a unique identifier to your record history. Click Continue.
Scroll down and click Save Your Encryption Key, which will be placed in your mobile device's photo gallery.
This is an important step necessary to link multiple devices to your profile or to restore to the App if your phone is lost or returned to factory settings.
The App displays a success message when the QR code image has been saved. Click OK.
The first part of the App installation is complete. Click ‘Get started’ to complete your set up.
To continue setting up your App, click the Gear icon in the the top right corner to continue.
Scroll to the bottom and click ‘Personal Information’ to continue.
The first time you land on this page, only your Cardinal ID number is displayed. Scroll to the bottom and click ‘Update My Information” to continue.
Review all information and update any fields that are blank or inaccurate. In some fields you enter text, in others you select a value from a drop down menu.
Here is an example of a field that has a drop down menu from which you choose a value.
When you have finished adding information, click ‘Submit Form’ at the bottom of the page.
Your information is now saved and complete. Use the Back Arrow icon in the top left corner to navigate back to the Safer Catholic U homepage.
