Cardinal Credentials
Students, faculty and staff have one Cardinal username that they use to access the majority of campus resources.
Your username and the password together are your Cardinal Credentials.
Your Cardinal Credentials are used to log onto Cardinal Students, Cardinal Mail Google Workspace, Cardinal Learn (Blackboard), the campus Wi-Fi network, campus computers and other services.
You use the Password Change service to change or reset your Cardinal Credentials password.

Applicants
When you apply to the University, you receive an email with your Cardinal Credentials (username, and information about your password). This password expires after 13 days if you do not change it, unless you do not have a date of birth on file, in which case it will not expire. If you did not change your password, or forgot it, you can contact us to change it. You will need your Cardinal ID number to change your password. This ID number was emailed to you with the password.
If you have problems changing your Cardinal Credentials password, or do not have a date of birth, please open a support case at techsupport.cua.edu.

When you matriculate, or submit your verified deposit, deposits are verified typically within 24-48 hours, you will need to change your password to gain access to all campus resources.

Faculty
Your faculty Cardinal Credentials account gives you access to Cardinal Mail, Cardinal Station, Blackboard, campus WiFi, campus computers, and other resources.
Faculty accounts are activated within 30 days prior to the contract start date once Human Resources has finalized the appointment. The Provost office will provide the username and Cardinal ID number. You establish your password by using the Password Change service once you have this information.
Please note you must change your password every 180 days.
Staff
Your staff Cardinal Credentials account gives you access to Cardinal Mail, Cardinal Station, Blackboard, campus WiFi, campus computers, and other resources.
Staff accounts are activated the day the employee starts working at the University. Human Resources provides the username and Cardinal ID number. You establish your password by using the Password Change page once you have this information.
Alumni
As an alumnus you maintain access to your Cardinal Mail Google account. You can also access transcripts through Cardinal Students.
To access these resources, you may need to change your password by using our Password Change service.

Password Lifetime
Important: Cardinal Credentials passwords expire after 180 days.
You will receive an email message to both your Catholic University email account and the personal account you identified in Cardinal Students or Cardinal Faculty and Staff to remind you the password will expire soon. You should select a new password using the Password Change page.
Please be sure to update the Wi-Fi and email settings in your smart phone, tablets, laptops and other devices with the new password as soon as you change it.
Resources
Cardinal Students is the University student information system allows students to add/drop classes, view their class schedule, check grades, view/accept financial aid, use CardinalPay, update personal information and more.
Cardinal Faculty and Staff is the University human resources system that allows employees to review paycheck and compensation history, request and submit payroll-related forms and review training history.
Cardinal Financials is the University's financial system.
Each of these three Cardinal systems can be accessed from the Cardinal Station landing page at cardinalstation.catholic.edu.
Cardinal Mail is Catholic University's implementation of Google Workspace for Education. Cardinal Mail offers storage for email and files, and provides the popular Google Gmail web mail interface. Google Docs, calendaring and contacts are also available through Cardinal Mail. Use your Cardinal Credentials to log onto Cardinal Mail at mail.google.com.
Cardinal Learn (Blackboard) is the University’s learning management system. All students and faculty are automatically enrolled in courses as reflected from Cardinal Students. If you are a student, and you do not see your classes in Cardinal Learn, it could be because your instructor has not yet made the course available. Please check with the instructor. Use your Cardinal Credentials to log onto Cardinal Learn at learn.catholic.edu.
