Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers (1860-1922)
This site allows you to search and view newspaper pages from 1860-1922 in select states and directory information about American newspapers (dates, places and types of publication) published between 1690-present. The site intends to “… create a national, digital resource of historically significant newspapers from all the states and U.S. territories published between 1836 and 1922.”
Chronicling America is sponsored jointly by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Library of Congress as part of the National Digital Newspaper Program (NDNP).

The historical map collection has over 43,000 maps and images online. The collection focuses on rare 18th and 19th century North American and South American maps and other cartographic materials. Historic maps of the World, Europe, Asia, and Africa are also represented.
