As the school year goes by, some students may feel that time has moved faster than usual, making the days seem like they’re flying past us in a blur.
Some students feel that the year seems to go by faster due to a repetitive routine of getting ready for and going to school.
“Waking up at 5, coming home, going to work and going to sleep at 11, then doing it again; it affects how I perceive time because every day feels like it’s a blur,” said junior Kensie Lucy.
“Doing the same thing everyday with the same people kinda makes us fall into a loop,” says junior Derielle Levy.
Others claim that the workload imposed by the school—along with extracurriculars and after-school jobs—makes them feel like time moves faster than it usually does.
“With multiple homework assignments for different classes, having a job, and having a personal life, it feels like the day rushes past,” said junior Jayah Woods.
Some say that school starts to feel like it goes by faster at different points of the school year, with a few students saying that time moves faster during the second half of the school year.
“I think school moves very slowly in the first semester and so quickly in the second semester, and days seem like hours,” said junior Sarah Pernia. “I think it may be because once finals in first semester ends, work seems to make more sense because you’re pulling from units before.”
No matter how fast time moves for students, we can all look forward to the potential memories to be made throughout the school year. So hang tight Tigers, ‘cause this year will soon be gone in a blink of an eye.
