The vision of what a classroom looks like in the future is already taking shape today. Traditional classrooms are struggling to keep up. Technology is not just a tool, it's transforming the very way students experience education.
Technology is reshaping the classrooms. One of its most powerful impacts lies in personalization and adaptive learning platforms.
“I think personalized learning would be good for some people. But I believe anyone can be taught a specific skill set,” teacher Mr. Davis said.
While technology is expanding what’s possible in learning, the role of in-person classrooms is evolving rather than disappearing. Not only delivering content but also being a tool for collaboration.
“Technology is a game changer for education, it offers the prospect of universal access to high quality learning experiences, and it creates fundamentally new ways of teaching,” Dan Schwartz from Stanford Report said.
The next step is determining how schools can integrate technology in a purposeful way. Schools can take in intentional and digital tools with clear educational goals to ensure that technology enhances rather than distracts students.
"Technology can create classrooms that are more dynamic while providing students with better opportunities for personalized learning and digitally enhanced collaboration,” the GCE editorial team from Grand Canyon University said.
As AI and automated tools become more deeply integrated in education, the role of teachers will shift. Teachers are chosen to transition from traditional lectures to dynamic ones. This will help to emphasize guidance and personalization.
“As the role of teachers shifts, teachers are going to have to up the skill set they have,” Mr. Davis said.
