‘Tis the season to be jolly! With Christmas right around the corner, students are already making exciting plans for how they are going to spend this holiday.
Most students intend to stay home for Christmas. However, some students are planning to travel with their families for the holidays. They may be visiting some distant relatives or traveling to a new (and most likely warmer) country or state.
“We are taking a road trip to New York!” senior Lanndon Dreahn said. “I've never been to any of the other states besides here and Florida, so it'll be a neat experience!”
As it is the season of love and joy, many students will be celebrating with their families and friends for Christmas. Some of these students have shared their family holiday plans during the holiday.
“I usually celebrate with my mom, brothers, my grandparents, and my dad's family,” senior Chloe Ringo said. “This year my mom, my brothers, and I are going to my grandparents’ house.”
Some students are using the upcoming Christmas break as a chance to meet their goals for this year, such as practicing for a sport or extracurricular, working on a new skill, etc. This is a great way for students to stay productive during the holiday.
“I’ll be practicing baseball throwing so I can make the team for Baseball for Conroe High Varsity, sophomore varsity, and junior varsity,” sophomore Cristian Dozal said. “I’ll also be practicing my orchestra music so I can be better.”
Other students, however, intend to take advantage of their break by unwinding and relaxing around the house. This is naturally expected considering how stressful the upcoming finals—and school in general—will be.
“I don’t do much during the holidays, I just hibernate.” senior Sofia Tenorio said. “And that is very much not a joke. I fall asleep in the afternoon and don't wake up until the very next morning at the crack of dawn.”
Whichever way the students plan to celebrate Christmas, we can all hope that it will be a good one this year. Merry Christmas, Tigers!
