With the freak out of TikTok being banned, Everyone was freaking out and wondering why it got banned early.
“I was very sad, and I was reminiscing about the memories because I thought my drafts were going to disappear.” Freshman Abigail Piconada said, "My drafts are very important to me because of the memories.”
Luckily it only got banned for more than 12 hours and we got it back. People realized that they need a job beside TikTok when they officially banned it.
“The TikTok ban affected me and multiple other people. Especially for small businesses and creators. That’s their only source of income and way to make money for themselves and their family.” Junior Ava Ramsey said, ”Hopefully whenever it gets banned, they will find another job besides only doing TikTok.”
Shortly after the suspension, president elect trump announced his intention to issue an executive order extending the constitution deadline upon assuming office. This assurance led to the restoration of TikTok services in the U.S. on January 19,2025.
Subsequently, January 20th President Trump signed an executive order granting a 75- day extension.
As of now, TikTok continues to operate in the U.S. under the temporary extension. negotiations are reportedly underway for a potential acquisition of TikTok U.S operations by American companies, aiming to the address national security
