College or Not? Navigating the Big Decision
Choosing a college isn’t just about picking a name off a list, it’s about evaluating academics and long term outcomes. Your college experience will help define your career path. A thoughtful decision now can set the stage for years of success.
After comparing options, most students realize the decision isn’t random, it's personal. Students begin focusing on the factors that will shape their daily experience and their success for the future.
“The most important thing I am looking for in a college is a good social environment and a good cosmetology program to continue,” junior Emma Sosa said.
Beyond academics, students often imagine the environment they would feel most supported. The setting and the social aspect of a campus can make a difference.
“As an artist I want to be at a college that supports art,” junior Logan Lebon said.
The search for the right college often begins with simple curiosity. Students may explore on online websites and attend college fairs to better understand their options.
“I’m learning about colleges through social media and through my family,” junior Anna Imerman said.
Choosing the right college can feel like a high stakes decision, and that can be stressful. Students may end up worrying about ending up in an environment that doesn’t support their growth.
“What worries me is what if I made the wrong choice or if I don’t make connections with people,’’ junior Addie Burnett said.
