Due to the rise of social media over the past decade, teachers face backlash from how they act in and out of the classroom, their personal beliefs they post on social media, and how they dress both in public and at school.
Teachers feel like their colleagues need to dress more appropriately, instead of trying to be a teenager.
“ Yes absolutely, some of the female teachers shouldn’t be dressing like some students.” English teacher Lonn Collins said.
Some teachers have their own opinion on how they define professionals in teachers attire.
“ I think that teachers should come to work neat, clean, and body appropriate that fits your body wear. Just because it’s in style you shouldn't wear it” Spanish teacher Ginger Vogel said.
Although, some students have opinions and have noticed when teachers have shown up to work with inappropriate clothing that has made them feel uncomfortable.
“Yes all the time, especially substitute teachers, I have seen them wear crop tops all the time” Junior Emily Olvera said.
Students also have said, if teachers came to school dressed more formally it would have a big impact on how they respect and will listen to that teacher.
“Yes, if teachers dressed professionally I would listen and pay more attention since I know that teacher cares,” Junior Kasey Madrid said.
