The long awaited construction happening at Conroe High School is now set to be done summer of 2026.
The ongoing construction impacted the daily activities of students and staff.
“It changed the process of checking students out, parent conferences, the ARD and 504 meetings, etc,” Associate Principal Marcus Cowart said.
New facilities and features are being added to the campus, and have improvements that align with the district’s long-term educational goals.
“Tiger Den Hall of fame, remodeled auditorium, new KTIG room, and debate room,” Cowart said.
With Conroe High School’s growing enrollment, the new construction will help accommodate the increased student population and meet future demand.
“When the new school opens in 27, all students will be under one roof,” Cowart said.
Throughout the construction process specific safety and security measures were taken into consideration.
“Over the summer, bullet proof film was installed on all exterior windows,” Cowart said.
The key goals of the expansion and renovation on campus includes various factors.
“The construction will make the school bigger, modern, more accommodating for students and teachers,” Cowart said.
“After the 10-year construction phase is completed next year, the new facilities are geared toward enhancing the educational experience for students and staff.
“Students will be very proud of their new building, they will take pride in it and keep it clean. The community will also be proud of this new building in their neighborhood. CHS will be hosting numerous events,” Cowart said.
