Have you ever received such a bad gift that you did not know how to react towards it? You are not the first, many students have received gifts that they had to put on a joyful face and be grateful for.
Receiving a gift that didn’t match your expectations can sometimes be hard or disappointing. When expecting a gift you sometimes have to expect the best or the worst. There is nothing you can do but just laugh during the moment and make jokes about the situation.
“The most disappointing gift I've gotten would be a set of car seat covers because I was 13 with no car but it was okay because we just laughed about it and I held a smile.” said Fernando Vazquez.
Some bad gifters don’t always pull it off. They will buy a good gift but then not ask what size the person is. You will probably be shocked with how much this actually happens.
“One time someone got me a jacket but forgot to ask for my size and it fit me way too small.” said Jenifer Mata.
While shopping for a gift many recommend to do their research based on that person's likings. Would you rather know what that person likes or do you just like guessing it out? Each has their own opinions about how to shop for someone.
“Sometimes I can be really picky with certain things when it comes to myself, like when someone asks me what I want or like I just say to not get me clothes since I am picky with that.” said Fernando Vazquez.
Students have made these bad experiences into something good when it comes to gifting for someone else. They take notes to figure out what that person would like.
“I make sure I have my papers that say what the person likes and pay attention to the small details.” said Jenifer Mata.
