Why I became a teacher...I did not start out thinking I was going to be a teacher. In fact, I probably would have bet against it! I wrote requirements for computer programmers at a large company. There was not a lot of personal fulfillment and joy. After being a stay-at-home mom, I worked as a substitute teacher and found I really enjoyed interacting with students. So I left the cubicle behind, earned a teaching degree, and came back to teach at the very high school from which I graduated. I absolutely found my passion in teaching Family & Consumer Sciences. I feel very lucky that I can teach students practical, real-world skills and knowledge that provide a foundation for living a better life.

On a Saturday, you'll find me...finally relaxing, probably baking some bread, and definitely hanging out with my dog, Olive.
