Grade 5 Termly Update

Term 4 of Grade 5 has been an engaging and rewarding conclusion to 2024, as our boys and girls made the most of every opportunity to learn and grow.

The Social Sciences curriculum brought the outdoors to life with an exploration of minerals and mining in South Africa. In the second half of the term, we journeyed through South Africa’s rich heritage trail, deepening our understanding of the country’s cultural and historical treasures.

In Natural Sciences, we delved into the fascinating topics of animal skeletons and the human body. A highlight was the investigative study on the importance of calcium for strong bones, sparking curiosity and hands-on learning.

The term culminated in an exciting Outdoor Learning Day, where the children embraced new challenges, expanded their horizons, and explored diverse areas of interest in a dynamic and interactive setting.

It has been a joy to witness the enthusiasm and curiosity our boys and girls have brought to their learning throughout the year. Their growth in teamwork, empathy, and social interactions has been truly remarkable, and they have embraced the ability to work together while enjoying shared experiences.

As we bid farewell to Grade 5, we eagerly anticipate seeing their continued growth and achievements in Grade 6. Here’s to another year of learning, discovery, and fun!
