Grade 4 - Pancake Day: 5 September

Pancake Day – Thank You, Maths!

Our Pancake Day was more than just tasty – it was a learning adventure! Maths helped us explore volume and practice measurement while making pancakes. English joined in too, as we followed step-by-step instructions to whip up our delicious treats.

The morning was filled with fun, teamwork, and learning – with plenty of laughter as the children had great fun flipping their pancakes. Of course, the best part was enjoying them at the end! What a wonderful way to celebrate learning – we love school!

Grade 4 - Trip to Ebersohn's Farm and Cheese Factory: 24 July

A highlight on the Grade 4 calendar is our visit to Ebersohn’s Farm for their annual Bonsmara Bull Sale. This year, we were lucky enough to attend on the actual sale day, which made the atmosphere all the more exciting. We got to see everything set up and ready for showtime. First, we toured the bulls and learnt what characteristics buyers look for when choosing which bull to purchase. We learnt a little about genetics, feeding, and other important features. We also got up close (very close!) to these enormous animals.

Afterwards, we headed to the cheese factory down the road. We split into smaller groups and toured the facility. Some parts were a bit smelly, so a few noses were held! We even got to taste cheese while it was still in the making, not quite like the finished product, but interesting nonetheless.

It was a fun and fascinating day of learning beyond the classroom!
