The Grade 0 Frog and Chameleon classes recently enjoyed a very special outing to Lion's Bush Farm. Even though the day began with a misty chill in the air, the excitement on the bus quickly warmed things up! The children chatted happily, with some even wondering if we might spot a lion or two along the way.
It has been another wonderfully busy and buzzy term in the Bee Class!
Turning four is a milestone, and we have celebrated many special birthdays with our traditional birthday rings, glowing candles, and, of course, delicious cupcakes.
From bus rides to baking to stepping onto the stage, the Fireflies and the Shongololos have embraced a term filled with joy, curiosity, and growth. A highlight was zooting around the Clifton campus on a magical bus adventure, passing the sports fields, heading up to the workshop, and even stopping to greet our favourite ponies in the paddocks.
Term 3 in the Junior Primary has been filled with curiosity, creativity, and meaningful learning. Each day, children have engaged in guided reading, discovering letters, sounds, words, and the joy of making meaning from text. Numeracy has been rooted in rich, hands-on experiences, with children exploring numbers and concepts through concrete activities and the Time2Read programme.
Spring is a season of renewal, energy, and joy—perfectly captured in our Grade 0 “Jumping for Joy Day.” In line with Clifton’s mission to champion the integrity of childhood, the Frog and Chameleon children spent the week exploring the “j” sound before celebrating with a day filled with movement, imagination, and play.
A Vibrant Celebration of isiZulu and Culture
What a lively isiZulu and cultural day it was, filled with fun, laughter, and learning! The Grade 3 chidlren arrived at school dressed in stunning multicultural attire, beautifully complemented by traditional accessories such as isiZulu necklaces.
Throughout the week, the Chameleon and Frog children had a wonderful time exploring the letter "u". To bring this sound to life, each child carried an umbrella from home, our very own "u" word to enjoy together on campus.
A Bus Adventure to Remember!
Our Pre-School children recently had the most delightful outing — a mini adventure aboard the Clifton Notties branded bus! With much excitement in the air, the children eagerly boarded the bus for a special tour around the campus, driven by the ever-cheerful Mr Russell Trott.
The mini-Olympics was filled with excitement as the Pre-School and Junior Primary children eagerly prepared to take part in a variety of races. On the morning of, there were a few nerves but the cheers from parents and friends quickly helped these turn into enthusiastic participation.
An evening of construction, creativity, and connection with our special Dads
A crisp winter’s evening with the golden glow of the setting sun set the scene for one of the most anticipated events in our Grade 0 calendar—Dad’s Evening! Excited children arrived with their Dads (and toolboxes in tow), ready for an evening of fun, teamwork, and memory-making.
Since the beginning of the year, the Grade 0 children have been eagerly awaiting the “Big Day”, the day they could bring their bicycles to school and enjoy some bubble-filled fun outdoors.
