Bees - Termly Reflection

It has been another wonderfully busy and buzzy term in the Bee Class!

Turning four is a milestone, and we have celebrated many special birthdays with our traditional birthday rings, glowing candles, and, of course, delicious cupcakes.

Our little bees have grown stronger every day – running, riding bikes and scooters, cutting with scissors, painting, sticking, and drawing. A highlight was creating our body image pictures – including the famous “potato man” – which captured just how much we are growing and developing.

One of our bravest moments this term was our performance in the Rhyme Time on the Bridge concert. Standing tall, we sang our Bee Song and Little Miss Muffet with all our hearts. Although a little wobbly in the knees, the children shone with confidence, delighting mums, dads, grannies, and grandpas.

We also learnt a beautiful isiZulu song, Siyizinyoni, with Mrs Maphosa. Through rhythm and movement, the children became birds in song and flight, expressing themselves with joy.

Psychomotor sessions with Mrs Shewan have been filled with imagination and adventure – building houses, zooming off on fire trucks, and mowing the grass with our trusty brushcutters. Each week, Ben and Meg’s story adventures continue to capture the children’s imaginations, always reminding them of the warmth and safety of home.

A big focus this term has been learning to name and share our feelings. Talking about being sad or cross is big, important work – and our Bees are learning that using words helps us grow braver and kinder.

Our Friday walks have been a joy, bringing us closer to nature. This term, we witnessed the felling of old trees, which made us a little sad. But we also planted two new Yellowwood trees, a moment of pride that connects beautifully with Clifton’s vision for a sustainable future. How wonderful to know that our children will one day walk through the forests they helped to plant!

As we near the end of our Bee year, we know that Term 4 holds even more fun, learning, messy art, and joyful adventures. With our two caring Teacher Bees guiding us, we will keep buzzing, growing, and giggling all the way.

Happy buzzing,
The Bee Group 🌼
