Hi CAV Families,
Marketplace is here today from 10-12. Stop by and shop! There are many great student-created gifts to purchase and games to play. After the shopping fun, our K-3 will perform in the field. They will be showing off their musical talents and the songs they have learned this year. Bring a blanket to sit out and enjoy the fun.
As a Leader in Me School, we have 5 Core Paradigms that drive our decisions, behaviors, and results. A paradigm is simply the way we “see” things. These 5 Core Paradigms include:
• Everyone can be a leader.
• Everyone has genius.
• Change starts with me.
• Empower students to lead their own learning.
• Educators and families partner to develop the whole person.
These paradigms or “the way we see things” at our school drive our everyday interaction with not only your student, but ourselves too. A partnership with families supports our ability for students to lead their own educational journey—empowering them to be responsible, reflective, and active in their learning experiences.
Have a great week,
Kirstin Lasto

School Meals Available at Community Locations
Through USDA's summer meal programs, approved sites in communities across the country can serve meals to kids up to age 18 at no cost, regardless of the school they normally attend. Visit San Diego County Summer 2025 Meal Sites for Students to view a list of summer meal sites in your neighborhood. Please contact the site directly for more information.

Keep learning over Summer Break!
Most of our digital programs will be available to students through the end of July!
Keep in mind:
Students may use the digital programs during the summer only for the programs in which they were enrolled during the 2024-25 school year.
Available programs:
Google/Google Drive (TCADocs)
BrainPOP
Discovery Education
Freckle Math (Any student enrolled in Freckle during the 24-25 school year)
Into Math
IXL
Keyboarding Without Tears
Lexia (Limited only to students who were assigned to Lexia)
CommonLit (Grades 4-8)
Because teachers will be on summer break, there will be no support available from teachers or technology after June 13, 2025.
In early August, the digital programs will be switched over to the new school year, and this may interrupt student use. The digital programs will be up and running again once Unit 1 is published on August 26, 2025.
Share Your Story!
Every family has a unique story, and we want to hear yours! By sharing how our schools serve your family, you help us demonstrate our impact to authorizing school districts and strengthen our case for partnerships and renewals. These testimonials may also be featured during National School Choice Week to highlight the power of educational options that empower families.

Cell Phones and Personal Electronics Policy
Please review our school's Cell Phone and Smartwatch Policy. Highlights from the policy are written below. To see the full policy and all details, CLICK HERE for the Parent and Student Handbook on pages 30-31.
Cell Phones
Students may have personal cell phones on campus but they must be turned off or silenced and placed in their backpacks while on school grounds (including break, lunch, and after school activities).
If a student needs to contact a parent or guardian for any reason during the school day, they may use the front office phone or they may use their cell phone in the front office with permission. If a parent needs to contact a student, they should contact the front office, not the student’s personal cell phone.
Students may use their cell phone after dismissal time, when the school day has concluded.
SmartWatches
The Classical Academies recognizes that students may wear or carry smartwatches or other devices for health and/or safety reasons such as emergency communication or location tracking. During the school day, students are not permitted to use their smartwatch for calling, messaging, texting, surfing the internet, social media, or taking photos except in the case of a real emergency or with permission from the teacher.
The device is to be set on silent mode during the school day so that there will not be disruptions to the classroom. If a student uses a smart watch for anything besides checking the time, the device may be confiscated until the end of the day.
Parents can help the school enforce this policy by not texting their children or calling them during the day. If a parent needs to contact their child they should phone the school office and the message will be relayed promptly.
