Mrs. Helene's Ukulele project:
."What a great day to learn to play my ukulele!"
If fulfilled, this project will provide our music students with 20 Ukuleles with 20 tuners, picks and 20 ukulele storage bags. Its getting close to being fully funded but not quite done yet!
Mrs. Orman's Art project:
This year my students will be studying the art of Egypt. The students will be learning about ancient tombs, Egyptian hieroglyphs, and the art of creating an ancient sarcophagus. This projects will be sculptural as well as 2 dimensional. The students will be painting, and designing their boxes with paint and ink. The inside of the boxes will have a sculpted Egyptian mummy. The students will be using the plaster tape to create this sculpture. This project brings history and art together for a fun interactive experience. On the back of each box will be facts about Egyptian history. This project will be displayed at the schools art show.

CAHS Homecoming Game is scheduled for Friday, October 12th. CAV students are invited to represent us in the Annual Homecoming Parade of Classes. Here is the info for anyone wanting to participate:
Annual CAHS Homecoming Parade of Classes – October 12th•
Students should arrive at the game (Del Norte High School) by 7:00 pm. There will be no admission price for students participating in the parade. Parents, however, will need to purchase a ticket.
• Please encourage students to wear either a school shirt or school colors.
• Students should meet at the end of the field, by the scoreboard when there are 5 minutes on the clock for the second quarter. The announcer will remind them when it is time to line up.
• Students will line up according to class (K-8th grade)
• We will need someone from each school to help organize students. The youngest ones will probably need someone to walk with them and lead the way for the others.
• Students will walk in front of the home bleachers to the end of the field, where they will sit in the end zone during halftime. We will need a few teachers to help keep them still and quiet during halftime.
• We will provide the banners for the lead students to carry.

We are excited to start Classical Academy Vista's Middle School Surf Team. The Scholastic Surf Series (SSS) is a school team surf league. The season usually runs from mid-September - May. There are normally 5 contests a year. This organization is well organized and provides a fun environment for the kids.
The divisions are: boys' shortboard, boys' longboard, girls' shortboard, girls' longboard, and body board. These divisions are open to all skill levels. The only requirements are to be able to swim past the breakers (outside), maintain a 2.0 GPA, have good sportsmanship, and have a current membership.

School Drop Off Traffic Flow Diagram
School Pick Up Traffic Flow Diagram
Drop off is from 8:30 - 8:45 am.
We will meet in the gym for our all school assembly from 8:45 - 9:00 am. All family and friends are welcome at our morning assembly. All kids will follow their teacher to their first morning class at 9:00 am.
Late arrivals will need to check in at the office. Office Staff will walk students to their class.
Pick up is at 3:00 pm for K-2nd and 3:30 pm for 3-8th.
Younger siblings waiting for older ones will be supervised on the playground until the 3:30 pm pick up.
We have two lines of traffic that come into the pickup area.
At book pick up, you will receive a placard with your last name to display in your car window.
Last names beginning with A-K are on the playground lane (inner right lane) and L-Z are on the parking lot lane (left lane). Signs will be posted to help with traffic flow. The first few weeks will be slower as we learn to recognize cars. Please be patient as we work this out. Last year we were able to get everyone in and out within 10 minutes.
