Dear CAV Families,
We had a wonderful week of learning at JumpStart and a smooth book pickup for our A and B track families. Thank you to all those who came out and prepared for the start of the school year.
If you haven't picked up your books and are on A or B track, please make arrangements with your teacher.
C track book pickup is Tuesday and we will be ready for another successful day. We are excited to see our new families.
We will have Elective Classes available during distance learning. We aren't able to offer them in the same manner as we do when we are on campus. We have created some of the popular classes on Schoology and teacher will be offering those classes to all Tracks during Unit 1. These classes are optional! To attend these classes and see the plans, please use the access code to join the course. More classes will be added as we learn what is needed.
Have a wonderful week!

A Journey In Art- 3-8:
Welcome to Art Class with Miss Kris! I'm so excited to take you on a journey in art this year. This is my 6th year teaching art with the Classical Academies, before that I was working in interior design and spent many years as a commercial artist. Art is such an exciting subject to learn, and it builds critical thinking skills, as well as creativity. This course will teach you many different ways of creating art. The class will look at many artists including Ansel Adams, Wyland, Georgia O'keeffe, Basky, and Picasso. You will learn the foundation of art elements, and principles of design as we go through each project.
So, roll up your sleeves, find a quiet comfortable place to draw, gather your supplies, and let's make the very best of this year. I will be hosting an ongoing weekly discussion board that I hope you'll be a part of. It's a fun way to share projects, and a positive way to support one another. You'll also be watching a weekly art video where I will guide you through each project. I'm looking forward to creating art with you all.

Are you asking yourself, "What do I do on the first day?", "How do I teach two kids at the same time?", "What does a homeschool day look like?", "Should I let my kids wear PJ's for homeschool?", "Do I have to sit and teach them every lesson?". First, let's take a deep breath. It's all going to be ok and we are here to help you be successful.
We will be hosting several Virtual Q&A sessions with a few of our amazing employee parents with a lot of homeschooling experience. This will be an opportunity to ask all of those burning questions you still may have but maybe don't know where to go or who to ask.

Dear Families,
The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school! Over the summer, participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label. Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app, available now. The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online.
Please follow the arrows and sign to our parking lot. We are the second lot as you drive in. The first lot is for the Church and Preschool only. We want to be respectful of our neighbors, so please park in our lot only.
There is no drop off in the church parking lot. For security of our kids, we need to drop them off in our parking lot or directly to our office. This is especially important for our K-2 classrooms on the first level. They must go to the office and be walked to class if they are late.
Thank you for following our parking policies!
School Drop Off Traffic Flow Diagram
School Pick Up Traffic Flow Diagram
Drop off is from 8:30 - 8:45 am.
We will meet in the gym for our all school assembly from 8:45 - 9:00 am. All family and friends are welcome at our morning assembly. All kids will follow their teacher to their first morning class at 9:00 am.
Late arrivals will need to check in at the office. Office Staff will walk students to their class.
Pick up is at 3:00 pm for K-2nd and 3:30 pm for 3-8th.
Younger siblings waiting for older ones will be supervised on the playground until the 3:30 pm pick up.
We have two lines of traffic that come into the pickup area.
At book pick up, you will receive a placard with your last name to display in your car window.
Last names beginning with A-K are on the playground lane (inner right lane) and L-Z are on the parking lot lane (left lane). Signs will be posted to help with traffic flow. The first few weeks will be slower as we learn to recognize cars. Please be patient as we work this out. Last year we were able to get everyone in and out within 10 minutes.
Do you have a comment, suggestion, idea to share? We have a special email address just for you, comments@classicalacademy.com. Your partnership is valued. Your ideas strengthen our programs. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
