BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Hello CAV families! My name is Sarah Ellis and I’m thrilled to be our school’s Box Tops for Education™ Coordinator.
Clipping Box Tops is an easy way to help earn cash for our school. Each one is worth 10¢ for our school! Just look for the pink Box Tops on hundreds of products. All you have to do is clip them and send them to school.
This school year, I think that together we can reach a goal of $1000.00. Your children can bring in any and all Box Tops to the front office to drop them off. Also look for a fun Box Tops cut and paste sheet at conferences or pick one up in the front office. I am so excited about this program…together we can do A LOT of great things for our CAV family!
For more information on Box Tops, including a list of participating products, visit the Box Tops for Education website. Be sure to sign up as a member (it’s free!) so you can check out our school’s earnings details and get access to coupons and bonus offers.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help make our school’s Box Tops for Education™ program a huge success this year.
Thanks for your help and I hope you have a wonderful day!
:) Sarah Ellis

Hello Classical Academy Vista Families,
We are excited to introduce our school-wide positive behavior reward system! This new incentive program is part of a larger Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system. PBIS is a proactive approach to school-wide behavior support and discipline. The entire campus has set clear behavior expectations for all students and when they are demonstrating positive behaviors they will be rewarded with Shark Squad Standard tickets. Our Shark Squad Standards are to: be safe, be respectful, and be responsible.
For our students in grades TK-5, there will be an opportunity drawing during morning assemblies where they can pick from a list of prizes and privileges. Names will be drawn on Monday (TK-2 C-Track) Wednesdays (A-Track, C-Track, Online) and Fridays(B-Track & C-Track). If your student’s name is called during assembly and they are not present, they will be informed when they arrive.
Our students who are 6-8 grade will be holding onto their tickets with the opportunity to “purchase” prizes and privileges. They can turn their tickets in during lunch on posted store days.
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) helps us to enhance a positive school climate and cultivate the culture we strive for. School climate involves all stakeholders and we want you to be as excited as we are to start the Shark Squad Standard reward system.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
All my best,
Charity Marino & the CAV Team
School Counselor

Learn to play hockey!
The San Diego Gulls Learn to Play Hockey Program offers first-time hockey players the chance to get on the rink in full hockey equipment for free. Participants will receive instruction on the basics of hockey as well as learn how to skate properly. The program is designed for participants ages 4 to 12 years old. No prior skating or hockey experience is required. Participants who are already comfortable skating a length of the ice, who want to try hockey are encouraged to register for the Little Ducks Hockey Initiation program.*
Participants in the San Diego Gulls Learn to Play Hockey Program will be provided with an equipment bag, helmet, shin guards, hockey pants, elbow pads, shoulder pads, gloves and a jersey to use for the four week session in order to be fully protected on the rink. Rental skates will be available at the rink each week. The use of full hockey equipment not only gives participants the feel of what it’s like to be a hockey player but also enables them to get use to skating, wearing all of the hockey gear.**
PARKING AND SCHOOL DAILY SCHEDULE

Late arrivals will need to check in at the office. Office Staff will walk students to their class.
Pick up is at 3:00 pm for K-2nd and 3:30 pm for 3-8th.
Younger siblings waiting for older ones will be supervised on the playground until the 3:30 pm pick up.
We have two lines of traffic that come into the pickup area.
At book pick up, you will receive a placard with your last name to display in your car window.
Last names beginning with A-K are on the playground lane (inner right lane) and L-Z are on the parking lot lane (left lane). Signs will be posted to help with traffic flow. The first few weeks will be slower as we learn to recognize cars. Please be patient as we work this out. Last year we were able to get everyone in and out within 10 minutes.
