Important Reminders

We appreciate all of our community following our safety procedures during drop-off and pick-up. Your cooperation has helped us move expeditiously and keep our students and staff safe. As we get more comfortable with the procedures, we ask that you remember to follow a few guidelines:

Masks MUST be worn by parents entering campus at ALL times by order of the San Diego County Health Department. This order, specifically for school campuses, supercedes any other orders or statements made with regard to outdoor spaces. If you choose not to wear a mask, we provide the option of drive-through pick up.
Drive slowly in the church parking lot, on Canyon Rd and in the back parking lot. We appreciate that everyone is using patience during drop-off and pick-up and want to make sure that everyone is safe.
Please follow all verbal guidelines staff are giving including using sidewalks when walking along Canyon Rd., crossing ONLY where there is a crossing guard, and minding those directing traffic.
Please remember that the church parking lot is one direction only. Please do not exit from the direction you entered as that entrance is one-way only.

The Bee Kind! Corner

Throughout this school year, students will be featured in the Bee Kind! Corner for above and beyond acts of kindness. We choose kindness every day here at TCA!

Has your student demonstrated extra kindness? We want to celebrate our students as they go above and beyond to be kind to others!

Sadie Kautsky - 5C

During the pandemic, Sadie has been looking for ways to help people who were struggling. She began volunteering weekly for a local nonprofit that organizes food and distributes it to families in her community. She and her sister, Naomi, also just held a fundraiser and raised over $2,000 for a disaster relief organization that is transporting PPE and other medical supplies to India.

Pablo Monge - 5C

Pablo babysits and plays with his little sisters every week so that his mom can lead an 8th grade reading group for his brother and other TCA students. In addition, he's taught his younger sister to read and helps her with math. Finally, he helps his mom with the younger students in her Sunday school class, helping with arts and crafts.

CAMS ASB

ASB is now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year! You DO NOT have to be currently involved in ASB to apply for next year.

Please complete THIS FORM to verify your interest in CAMS ASB for the 2021-2022 school year. The deadline to complete the application is Monday, May 31st.

Applicants will be chosen and announced via email by Friday, June 11th.

"The Caiman Way" Meeting

Dear Caiman Families and Athletes,

Our Athletics Department would like to invite you to join us for our upcoming Caiman Way Fall Sports presentation. Join us Tuesday May 25th at 7:00pm at CAHS studio campus as we provide important information for our upcoming fall sports and for an opportunity to connect with our fall coaches.

Our Caiman Way presentation will cover the following topics:

Presentation of the Caiman Way
Use of technology and our sports website
Sports clearance process
Clarifying roles of coaches, parents, and players
Participating in fundraising

When students or employees come on campus for any reason, they will be asked to complete a health screening on their mobile device via the Parent Square app. This will help us save time when checking students in to ensure that all individuals are free of COVID symptoms while at school.

Pick-up Sign

Please be sure to have a sign displayed in your front windshield on the right side to help pick-up run smoothly!

Your sign should have your student's last name in all caps on top and then the teachers names underneath. If you're picking up students with multiple last names, please list all student last names in all caps.

Our spotter can call your students to the front of the line when they see the sign and have them ready as soon as you pull up!

PLEASE NOTE: Medication Policy for 2020-21 School Year

The California Department of Education has modified requirements for the way schools handle student medications which are kept on campus or carried by students while on campus.

CLICK HERE to read the updated medication policy TCA schools will put into effect for the 2020-2021 school year. Please note that ANY medication, including over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol and cough drops, MUST have a signed doctor's note to be allowed on campus.

Virtual Calm Room

The counseling team has developed a Virtual Calm Room as a resource for our school community. Sometimes life is challenging and we experience distress. This Virtual Calm Room was created to serve as a break and to help you find new ways to identify & manage strong emotions and build your resilience. These resources will hopefully allow you to reset back to a calm state of mind and body.

We encourage you to make it a priority to care for yourself in healthy ways. Not all coping strategies will feel right so we encourage you to explore some and find what works for YOU!

Dear TCA Families,

We ask that you try to handle any business with teachers and office staff via phone or email when possible. If you need to come to the front office, please understand the following:

1. The front door is locked. You will have to knock and wait for a staff member to come to the door.

2. If you must come inside the building, your temperature will be taken by a staff member. If your temperature is over 100 degrees, we are sorry to say that you will not be allowed into the building.

3. Face coverings must be worn while on the porch or inside at all times.

4. Appropriate social distancing measures will be followed.

Breakfast Program 2020-21

The Classical Academies participates in a school meal program by offering a nutritious breakfast meal every school day. Our breakfast program is available to all students that are on campus longer than two hours for an educational purpose.

Prepackaged Breakfast Kits are available on campus at various times throughout the day to allow for flexible schedules. The Breakfast Kits must be ordered online at https://classicalacademies.boonli.com by noon the day before your student is on campus.

When students arrive on campus, they will be able to choose from the available prepackaged Breakfast Kits. Each Breakfast Kit includes a breakfast cereal, dried fruit, unsweetened regular or flavored applesauce, graham crackers, and low-fat milk. All Breakfast Kits include a spoon and napkin.

The cost is $3.00 per Breakfast Kit. Eligible students may receive meals free of charge if qualified.

School Meals Available at Community Locations

On October 9, 2020, the USDA extended the summer grab-and-go school meal program to encompass the entire school year. Children are eligible to receive meals regardless of school or district of attendance. School districts are working hard to implement the new guidelines and meet local needs. Locally, we are aware of meal services in Escondido, Oceanside, and Vista. Please visit their websites for more information.
