PLEASE READ! Important Health and Safety Information
Hello TCA Parents!
Cheers to hydration !!
The weather is warming up and it's important that our students stay hydrated. We ask that you please send a water bottle with your student. Make sure to write their name on it so there are no mix-ups and we can return it to a student who has misplaced it.
Health and Safety
are
PRIORITY
to the
TCA Bear Family
Safety is a top priority here at TCA and that extends to our families and staff. Please do your part to keep everyone safe when picking up your students from school each day. You can do this by staying out of the red zone, driving at slow speeds and not making
u-turns in the middle of the intersection of Canyon and Gretna Green where you will find our crossing guards and families trying to cross the street. Let's look out for each other and keep everyone safe!
Donations Needed!
TCA is in need of donations for rewarding our students. We greatly appreciate all the support of our families. We are currently collecting donations from Friday, March 18th through Friday, April 1st. Also, don't forget that every $10 spent, you can log as 1 hour towards your volunteer time. Thank you again for all of your support!

A word from our CEO:
Dear Classical Academies' Families,
I am so excited to announce that today kicks off our One Day for Education campaign! This annual fundraiser identifies a special project at each campus and fundraises to make that dream a reality!
This year's projects include a new sound system and outdoor theater for The Classical Academy (TCA), a new playground for Classical Academy Vista, creating makerspaces at Classical Academy Middle School, expanding classroom libraries at Coastal Academy, bringing a hot lunch program to Coastal Academy High School, and purchasing a new van for Classical Academy High School.
All donations are tax-deductible and will directly impact students! I hope we can count on your support!

DID YOU KNOW?
Playground Freeze
We have several adults who work tirelessly to make sure students remain safe, responsible, respectful and kind while outdoors for snack, lunch and recess times. Student Supervisors, or "red shirts" kindly ask students to eat some food prior to playing. This week we began a new playground/recess strategy. It comes from the idea of whole brain teaching, which is a highly effective way to increase success all around the school. At the end of recess and lunch time, staff will blow the whistle in a special sequence. First whistle: students stop what they are playing/doing, freeze, and listen for instructions. School staff will wait for calm bodies, then give instructions. For example, “It’s time to put away recess equipment and quietly line up.” Second whistle: students calmly clean up, line up, and prepare to return to class.
Do you have a burning (Buzzing) question about anything going on around here that would be a good topic for a future "Did You Know?" post? If so, let me know by filling out this What Do You Want to Know about TCA?
CELEBRATE!
The Bee Kind! Corner
Throughout this school year, students will be featured in the Bee Kind! Corner for above and beyond acts of kindness. We choose kindness every day here at TCA!
Has your student demonstrated extra kindness? We want to celebrate our students as they go above and beyond to be kind to others!
Please complete THIS FORM to nominate your child.

Encouragement, Kindness and Understanding
Mrs. G's Garden
TCA Families - Hello from Mrs. G's Garden!
During Mr. C's absence I will be promoting growth in all of our wonderful TCA students through the school counseling program. This looks like classroom lessons, small groups, and even some one-on-one meetings. As always, TCA strives to partner with parents and I would love your input. Please reach out via email at any time. Your feedback and involvement in school is super important and valued!
You can contact Mrs.G @ kgravelle@classicalacademy.com
You can also fill out a referral form here: https://forms.gle/T8GN1pqpPprj2RabA
TCA Bears, can you help our garden grow?! We need your acts of kindness to make it bloom!
If you have been the recipient of an act of kindness, please let us know! There are flowers by the bulletin board outside my office that are waiting for you to tell us who was SO KIND to you…and what they did to give you the warm fuzzies. You see, kindness is how we show people we care, how we build up our community, how we make and keep friends, and how we create a loving world for all of us to live in.
“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” – Mother Theresa
Virtual Calm Room
The counseling team has developed a Virtual Calm Room as a resource for our school community. Sometimes life is challenging and we experience distress. This Virtual Calm Room was created to serve as a break and to help you find new ways to identify & manage strong emotions and build your resilience. These resources will hopefully allow you to reset back to a calm state of mind and body.
We encourage you to make it a priority to care for yourself in healthy ways. Not all coping strategies will feel right so we encourage you to explore some and find what works for YOU!
Do you have an inspirational story of achievement or success to share?
