COMING SOON!
My name is Margaret Shelton and this upcoming year begins my 31st year in teaching. A little about me…I am a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas with my parents & six siblings. I graduated High School from Bishop Lynch & earned my degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Tech University. My family & I made McKinney our home for the last 20+ years which is where I have been teaching as a Dyslexia Specialist. But somehow, time just flies, and my two amazing, beautiful boys have grown into amazing, beautiful men. So, I decided to move to Celina where my heart is filled with peace and excitement. I’m just giddy to be able to serve my new community! I feel so blessed and humbled when I reflect on what a gift it is to be a part of the Celina ISD family. I can’t wait to meet you all & for our Bothwell adventures to begin.

Meet the Teacher will be on Monday, August 11th.
What to do before Meet The Teacher: Notify the Registrar/Front Office if your child has been identified with Dyslexia and you are new to CelinaISD.
All students have access to Audiobooks on Learning Ally. This tool is a must for Dyslexia students to independently read books "by ear;" including text beyond their reading level. These experiences allow readers to build comprehension and increase vocabulary; as well as, build listening stamina (begin with 10-15 minutes per day and progress to longer). This can also be a great way to enjoy a book together as a family!
Scientific research shows that the first 1,000 Sight/Fry Words make up approximately 85% of written material. Learning these words with automaticity can benefit your child greatly.
