My name is Melanie Hill and I am super excited to return to the Bothwell Elementary staff. Last year I served as a paraprofessional while this year will be my 1st year teaching Special Education!

Born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, I graduated with a BA in English Literature from Northern Illinois University and a MS in Human Development and Family Studies from Purdue University. After 18 years in Child Protective Services, my heart led me to a change in careers where I can still be of service to one of the most vulnerable populations - OUR CHILDREN!

I'm married to Ricardo (Rico) Hill who is a retired professional basketball player and we will be celebrating 11 wonderful years of marriage on Christmas Eve! Our union has created a large blended family with 9 children that are the center and joy of our lives! 

My husband and I visited Texas for 5 days in November 2019 and moved here 2 weeks later. We were intrigued by the energy and sense of community we felt in this area and decided it would be a great place to raise our youngest 3 children…BESt choice EVER! 

When I’m not busy with our children and their activities, I enjoy live music, trying new restaurants and watching movies at home…I am the ultimate homebody!

I'm eager to support the academic, socio-emotional and physical development of my students this school year as well continuing to work with the families and staff of Bothwell Elementary!
