Go Bobcats!
Hello! My name is McKenna Troeger, and I am so excited to be your child’s 3rd grade ELAR and Social Studies teacher! I will be partnering with Mrs. Saur, who will be teaching Math and Science. This school year marks my 9th year in education. Previously, I taught 3rd and 4th grade in Frisco, and in the beautiful state of Colorado, where I grew up. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Early Childhood Education. I also hold my ESL certification and a Master’s in Library Science with a School Librarian Certification.
I have been married to my husband, Derek, for five years. Together, we have two boys, Kohen (3) and Callahan (10 months). Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as with our mini goldendoodle, Paisley! I also love going on walks, trying new restaurants, and reading.
I am always eager to grow and learn alongside my students and am excited to begin the new school year. I believe strong relationships are the foundation of meaningful learning, and I strive to create an inclusive, engaging classroom. I also challenge students to think deeply, grow, and reach their full potential. Please feel free to reach out at any time—I look forward to partnering with you this year!
Meet the Teacher will be on Monday, August 10th.
5:30-6:15 (A-L) 1st - 5th
6:15-7:00 (M-Z) 1st - 5th
Please bring student supplies. You do not need to label each item as we will organize all supplies on the first day!
In addition to email, 3rd grade will be using ClassDojo! It’s a great way to stay connected and see all the amazing things your child will be doing throughout the year, along with important grade-level reminders. A parent QR code will be provided at Meet the Teacher.
Thursday folders will be sent each Thursday with graded work, school flyers, and class reminders. Please return Thursday Folders to school the following day.
CLASS DAILY SCHEDULE
Students will be allowed a snack time in the morning, so please send them with a healthy, clean snack each day. Make sure the snack does not require a spoon or is in liquid form. Examples of appropriate snacks are Cheezits, goldfish, and pretzels.
Students need to bring their own refillable flip top/straw water bottle (water only) each day. No screw top bottles please.
Lunch money may be added to your child's lunch account online on the School Cafe site at https://www.schoolcafe.com/
3RD GRADE SPECIALS SCHEDULE
Our students attend a different specials class each day for 50 minutes. Students need to wear sneakers every day to safely participate in P.E. or bring them to change into.
