Hello! My name is Ciera Howell and I am so excited to be your child’s 3rd grade ELAR and Social Studies teacher! I will be partnering with Mr. Corbett who will be teaching Math and Science. This school year will be my 9th year in education. I have had experience as a Special Education Resource Teacher, 5th grade teacher, and now a 3rd grade teacher. I am so excited to continue my career at Bothwell for the third year and partner with you to make this school year the best year ever!
A little about me! I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's in Psychology and am currently attending University of North Texas to obtain my Masters in Educational Leadership and Principal Certification. Outside of the classroom I love nothing more than spending time with my family and calling Celina home. My husband, Travis, and I have lived in here for the past six years. We have a two year old son, Wyatt, and recently welcomed our sweet baby girl, Olivia, to our family this past May. I also love to read, watch sports (Go UCLA Bruins!), & travel.
I can’t wait to meet the amazing Bothwell students and serve our Celina community! It’s going to be an incredible year! Go Bobcats!
Meet the Teacher will be on Monday, August 10th.
5:30-6:15 (A-L) 1st - 5th
6:15-7:00 (M-Z) 1st - 5th
Action items to complete before MTT:
Bring student supplies if you have them. You do not need to label each item as we will organize all supplies on the first day!
In addition to email, 3rd grade will be using ClassDojo! It’s a great way to stay connected and see all the amazing things your child will be doing throughout the year, along with important grade-level reminders. A parent QR code will be provided at Meet the Teacher.
Weekly Bobcat (Thursday) folders with graded school work will come home each Thursday. Please return them on Friday.
CLASS DAILY SCHEDULE
Your child will be rotating between two teachers this year. I will be teaching ELAR and Social Studies and Mr. Corbett will be teaching Math and Science
Students will be allowed a snack time in the morning, so please send them with a healthy, clean snack each day. Make sure the snack does not require a spoon or is in liquid form. Examples of appropriate snacks are Cheezits, goldfish, and pretzels.
Students need to bring their own refillable flip top/straw water bottle each day. No screw top bottles please.
