Hi! Welcome to my page! I am currently a senior at Clarkstown North High School, and this is my third and final year in science research.
I do three sports -- triathlon, track/cross country, and competitive swimming.
I am the captain of varsity cross country.
I love science!
At first I was reading about several neurotransmitters in the brain but I decided to focus on serotonin.
Serotonin is used by the body to regulate mood, and helps with sleeping and digestion. More than 90% of serotonin is manufactured in the intestines.
I am studying the effect of serotonin levels on people's ability to adapt to situations.

I moved my focus back towards mood, but I implemented virtual reality.
In spring of 2023, I spoke with Dr. Battaglia from Columbia University and Dr. Glicksman from Hackensack Medical Center, about their studies dealing with neurology and virtual reality.
Starting in October, I started testing how VR experiences can help improve people's mood, and reduce the physiological symptoms related with stress. Most of my participants were teachers at North!
So far the results are really promising. I submitted a paper pertaining to this topic to the Regeneron Science Talent Search Competition, but I still want to do more trials on younger participants!
