Spelling

Our sound for this week is in Unit 32. There are two sounds:  

Core sounds for ch include:

• ch as in chicken

• tch as in match

Extension sounds for ch include: 

• ti as in question

• te as in righteous

• t as in picture

Make a list or think of as many words as you can that have the 'ch’ sound in them.  Try and read through the words in your spelling list.

Core sounds for sh include:

•  sh as in shell

• ch as in chef

• ti as in station

• ci as in musician

Extension sounds for sh  include: 

• si as in tension

• sci as in conscious

• ce as in ocean

• s as in sure

• ss as in tissue

• ssi as in session

• c as in excruciating

• t as in ingratiate

• sc as in crescendo

• che as in panache
