Have a go at playing the game below and notice what happens.
Have a go at one or both of these investigations.
Watch this video clip as a reminder of chance.
Have a go at this spinner activity. You don't actually need a spinner, you just need to look carefully at the one in the picture.
Now answer this questionnaire in Seesaw.
Look carefully at this graph and predict as much information as you can from it.
What is it showing?
Whose information is it showing?
What title would you give this graph?
What do you need to know for it to make sense?
What are the different colours representing?
Why are some columns taller than others? Explain.
Use the information from one of these charts and create your own column graph.
Revision of bar graphs and picture graphs. Complete the activities on this website - a mixture of video clips and practice activities. There are 10 different sections listed down the lefthand side.
Thinking activity
Have a look at this chart below and think about what information you can work out from it. Try to come up with 3 different pieces of information. You need to look very carefully at the titles of the columns and the labels on the left hand side of the table.
This kind of chart is a little different from the tables we have been looking it in our last few Maths lessons. We need to do some careful thinking to understand the information that it gives. We need to look at the information going across in rows, and we need to look at the information going down in columns. It is really important to look at the headings for each row and column and to think about how we get information from the chart.
Try answering the following questions from the chart:
How many kids went to the cinema?
How many boys went to the cinema?
How many ladies went to the cinema?
How many males went to the cinema?
How many people went to the cinema altogether?
Two way tables allow us to share more than one piece of information. This table gives us information about the number of people who own cats and who own dogs.
Have a look at this table and answer the following questions:
How many people have no pets at all?
How many people have both a cat and a dog?
How many people have a cat but no dog?
Now complete this two-way table worksheet in Seesaw.
This video shows how a two-way table works. Just watch the first 2 or 3 minutes of this video.
Your teacher will give you an assessment task.
