Part 1.
Students watch Caine’s Arcade Video below.
-Teacher discusses the PBL project with students and brainstorm ideas for the types of games they themselves could create.

Follow through the PowerPoint presentation for Part 1 of this program.
-Students complete page 1. Fact find of their Caine’s Arcade booklet.
-Students break into groups and discuss what they have written in their booklets.
-Page 2. Students individually generate as many ideas as they can.
-Students break into small groups and discuss their ideas /ask probing questions of how and why?
-Teacher led discussion on some great ideas that popped up at the last session.
Teacher leads a discussion on how certain aspects of designs could be created. Are these possible? And etc.
-Students break into small groups and discuss their favourite idea. Students are to each ask one question about the design to get the creator thinking.
-Students independently judge their own ideas and complete page 3.
-Students complete reflection table
Planning stage.
-Teacher led discussion on how to plan in order to create an arcade game.
-Discussion on images for design (labels, scale etc.)
- Discussion on materials.

Part 2
Objective: To create their own arcade game
Students have brought in materials from home in order to design their planned arcade game. Teacher has a quick safety/responsibility talk.
Students create their own game. Students will also need to create a rules/instruction card and an advertisement poster for their game.
-Students complete reflection table
Part 3
Objective: To have others play their arcade game and test its functionality. Students will also get a chance to play other students’ arcade games. This will help them to reflect on their own design and dive deeper into how other games function.
