The paid version includes single sign-on, as well as automatic rostering that syncs with Skyward nightly.
With the exception of PHE and LMS, schools have access to the free version of Zearn.
To access, both staff and students should go to the Clever Portal and click the Zearn icon.
The free version does include single sign-on, but does not automatically roster students.

Also, here are the written step-by-step instructions:
Go to the Clever Portal and click the Zearn icon.
Complete your account set-up by verifying your name and email address. Then put in your school information, create a class name and set your grade level.
Roster your students. Type in your students name First Last. Also, write down your class code.
On the user name and password screen, change students user name to match their google login. First.Last@csd117.org, you can change their password to match their birthday or use the password given.
Step up the mission where we want students to start.
Kinder: Mission 1
1st grade: Mission 1
2nd grade: Mission 3
3rd grade: Mission 3
4th grade: Mission 3
5th grade: Mission 2
The last step will give you an option to print log-in cards for your students. Write down your class code if you haven’t already.
Have students log-in for the first time. Students will open up their chromebooks and click on the Zearn icon on the Clever page or go to Zearn.org.
Have students login for the first time using the login information on their login card.
Have students enter in your class code to complete the process (they only need to put in the class code once). If you want you can have students work on the first lesson.
