Overview of Requirements: [OSPI Info & PESB Info]
As of September 1, 2019, renewal applications for Initial, Residency, Professional, and Continuing teacher and Initial/Continuing CTE certificates require completion of at least 15 clock hours, or at least one goal from an annual professional growth plan (PGP), and an emphasis on STEM integration.
What counts towards STEM?
Exposer to authentic STEM integration experiences which align to state learning standards including information about STEM-related career choices.

Overview of Requirements: [PESB Info]
Teachers and administrators must complete clock hours, professional growth plans (PGPs), or credits focused on equity-based school practices aligned to the cultural competency, diversity, equity, and inclusion (CCDEI) standards. Teachers must complete 15 clock hours or the equivalent for certificate renewal (or maintain a valid National Board certification), and administrators need to complete 10 clock hours or the equivalent.
When does this requirement need to be met?
The new requirement needs to be met for renewal applications submitted beginning July 1, 2023. This means that June 30, 2024, is the first date that certificates not meeting this requirement will expire. Renewal applications submitted prior to July 1, 2023, do not need to meet the equity requirement, even if they have an expiration date of June 30, 2024, or beyond. If an educator does not meet all renewal requirements, then their certificate will expire. Educators may not serve in their role with an expired certificate. The current cultural competency standards will be used until the revised standards are available. PESB will begin the multi-phased review process in Spring 2021.

The cutoff for the Camas School District to add your credits to determine your rate of pay for the year is 10/1 annually.
Once you are maxed out on credits and in the top pay lane, the district no longer adds the credits to your profile, since it doesn't effect your payrate.
