Good to do at beginning or end of year to delete old apps and photos.
Settings, General, Reset, Erase all content and settings. Will need to confirm.
Once restarts, hit the home button, choose English and United States.
Choose setup manually and then CSD-Guest and ok.
When the remote management window comes up, click next. Apps will auto install, auto deleted and organize themselves, depending on the building, grade level and cart settings.
Find the folder called Reference.
Open the app called Self-service.
Any app in there can be downloaded.
It does require downloading to each device.
To request an app not in the self service, please complete a help ticket.
This works well for deleting a couple of apps. If there is a lot to do, you may consider a factory reset.
Go to settings, then General and iPad Storage.
Click on an app, then the delete app option shows up.
This is programmed at a district level and effects all devices.
It’s similar to GoGuardian, but for iPads.
Launch apps or websites for students on their iPad.
Lock students into an app or website.
Lock the iPad completely.
Close all apps.
View student screens.
Share their screen to the class with an Apple TV.
Most options apply to entire group, small groups or individual students.
On the teacher iPad (can’t be one from the cart as those have student settings).
Download the Classroom app from the self service app.
Open the app to add your name and create a class.
Once you click the “invite students” button, your students can join the class from their iPad.
You do need to be near them as it uses bluetooth to connect students with their teacher.
Teachers might want to set these up for students, especially kinders.
The teacher iPad needs to be near the students (it uses bluetooth) , and on the teacher iPad be sure you've hit "Invite Students".
On the student iPads
Open the settings app.
When the device is near the teacher device, and the teacher has clicked on "Invite Students", a new option will appear in settings for students called “Classroom”, click it.
On the right side, click the name of the class.
There is then a prompt to type in the students first and last name and hit done.
Next, students will be asked to enter a four digit code. This code is displayed on the teacher device.
Once you see all students, click add

Classroom- To add groups
Stack- Push apps and even lock them into an app
Compass- Open a website for them
Four Square- Thumbnail of screens
Eyeball- Closes all apps
Lock- Locks all ipads
Speaker- Mute all ipads
3 Dots- Invite or remove students. End Class.
Options for Individual Students
Click on an individual student for more options
Open- Open an app
Navigate- Open a website
View Screen- See large version of their screen
Hide- Close all apps for the one student
Lock - Lock the one student
Mute- Mute the one student
Airplay- Show their screen on the Apple TV
Remove- Remove from class
The AppleTV and the iPad should be on the same network.
Open the Control Center by swiping down from the upper right corner of the screen.
Tap Screen Mirroring, the icon with two overlapping squares.
Select your Apple TV from the list
If an AirPlay passcode appears on your TV enter the passcode on your iPad
To stop mirroring, open the Control Center again, tap Screen Mirroring, then tap Stop Mirroring.
USING APPLE CLASSROOM YOU CAN SHARE YOUR STUDENT SCREENS TO THE APPLE TV
On the Apple TV, go to settings, and then to Remotes and Devices.
Under Other Devices choose Remote App and Devices.
Hold your iPad next to the Apple TV and a pop up will appear.
On the iPad, click Pair, and then enter the 4 digit code that appears on the TV
To use your iPad as a remote, put your finger on the upper right corner of the screen, on the wifi symbol, and swipe down. This will reveal the control center. One of the icons looks like the Apple TV remote.
You can add and delete the options that show in the control center by going to Settings, Control Center.
