Pick up the receiver or press “Speakerphone”. While on the intercom line, not an outside dial tone, press the button on your phone labeled “Main Menu”.
When you hear the voice of Holly Kreuter say “Welcome to Burning Man”, press the * (Star) sign + your extension (Mailbox) number, for example; if your extension was 155 your mailbox would be 155 so you would enter *155.
You will then be prompted to “Enter your password followed by the # (Pound) sign”. Now enter the password that was given to you to access your mailbox, followed by the # (Pound) sign. It is always a good idea to create your own unique password.
You will then be told the information about your mailbox activity such as unsuccessful attempts to access you mailbox, number of new messages, number of messages total, etc. You will then here a menu of options; press 1 to receive your new and/or saved messages, press 2 to send a message and pressing 5 for mailbox management.
Press the number 5 and you will be prompted for the following; press 1 to change the personal greeting, press 2 to change the password, press 3 to change the owners’ name. If you need to do anything else, please ask your manager or the Facilities Manager first.
You should be all set up. Have fun.
This works whether you are checking from your desk or calling in from anywhere.
If you are at your desk and you see the “Messages” light on, press the button and follow the instructions. They should sound familiar and they should start with “Enter your password followed by the # (Pound) sign.
If you are at your desk and the “Messages” light is not on but you would like to listen to an old message or manage your voice mailbox, press the button on your phone labeled “Main Menu”, you will hear Holly Kreuter’s voice saying “Welcome to Burning Man”. Press the * (Star) sign followed by your extension. Enter your password when prompted, followed by the # (Pound) sign and you will get the status of your mailbox and you can press 1 to receive the messages.
If you are calling in from outside the office, whether on a land line or a cell phone, simply dial into the Burning Man Main Menu and then follow the same procedure as if you were at the office. “Welcome to Burning Man”, * sign + your extension, enter your password, followed by the # sign and you're in!
You should now be connected to your voice mail
