Coach Jake Whitman was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and has been coaching basketball for twelve years. During those 12 seasons he has spent time as a boy’s middle school and JV head coach along with being a varsity assistant prior to his time as a girls varsity assistant. He has also coached softball and volleyball at the high school level.

Coach Whitman is entering his fifth season as the JF Head Girls Basketball Coach.  This will be his sixth overall season in the Lady Cavaliers program, helping guide the team to a regular season District Championship for the first time in over ten seasons during the 2018-2019 season. He has coached a number of athletes that have gone on to play in college, including Gabi Nazigian at Palm Beach Atlantic and Tiffany Carey at Eastern Mennonite University. Coach Whitman is also a member of the American Coaching Association, eBasketball and TeachHoops.com.

Coach Whitman graduated from Liberty University in 2009 with a Bachelors in Religion: Youth Ministry.  He earned his Master’s in Special Education from LU in 2014. 

Coach Whitman and his wife Taylor have 3 daughters, Reagan who is 4 years old, Kennedy who is 3 years old, and Lincoln who turns 1 in December.
