After moving to Lynchburg, Va in 1986, she graduated from Jefferson Forest High school in 2001. She then pursued a track and field scholarship to North Carolina State where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2006.
Foster received 14 individual state titles in high school and then went on to earn 3x Division 1 All-American titles in the 100 m hurdles and 60m hurdles, 5x ACC Champion in 100m Hurdles,60m hurdles and 4x100 relay, and Olympic trial finalist in 2004. She currently still holds the 100m hurdle record at North Carolina State University and several records at Jefferson Forest High School. Foster then received a Nike contract which she had for 3 years.
Foster is currently teaching at her alma mata JF and in the past Lynchburg City Schools from 2015-2021 and coaching children to success in track and field. Foster has been coaching since 2009. Coached several to state champions, D 1 athletes, professional athletes.

Coach Young enters his first season as the Head Boys Track & Field Coach at JFHS.
Coach Young is a graduate of James F. Byrnes HS in Duncan, South Carolina where he was a member of the Track & Field team for 3 years. Young competed in the 100M, 200M, 4x100M and 4x200M Relays and also participated in Long Jump and Triple Jump.
Coach Young also played football for 4 years at JFBHS. After graduation, Young played collegiately for one year at Methodist University as a defensive back for the Monarchs. Coach Young works as special education paraprofessional at JFHS and is also a member of the JF Football Staff as the varsity defensive backs and receivers coach.
